COCC is a member of the regional accrediting organization known as the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU or the Commission for short). All members of the Commission submit regular annual reports that briefly note any major changes, as well as a more developed Interim Report every 5 years and a Comprehensive Self Study Report every 10 years: these major reports are accompanied by a visit of Commission-appointed evaluators. Our last Comprehensive Self Study Report was submitted in 2002, and we received several commendations as well as recommendations. We addressed our progress on these recommendations in a Focused Visit Report and evaluator visit in 2004. It is now time for our Interim Report and visit: the report is due winter 2007 and evaluators will visit our campus April 17 and 18, 2007.
The goals of the Interim Report are to address continuing progress made regarding the recommendations we were given in 2002 (and also those given to us in 2004) and to report any significant institutional changes since 2002. The significant changes are categorized by the Commission into such areas as finance, campus facilities, student services and instruction. The core recommendations that we have received both in 2002 and 2004 are related to institutional and instructional assessment.
